Al Jolson autograph shown in the corresponding image. Al Jolson (1886 - 1950) was an American singer, comedian, and actor. His career lasted from 1911 until his death in 1950, during which time he was commonly known as "the world's greatest entertainer". This lot presents an Al Jolson autograph on a piece of paper measuring approximately 5" by 3". With a crisp, clear signature, the paper shows some signs of aging with light spotting and some creases. The item in this lot was part of the personal collection of Robert E. White, Jr. Mr. White was a former editor and publisher at the Oxford Press, and a long-time theater reviewer of local, regional, national and international productions, with emphasis on Cincinnati, New York City and London. The collection representd the many noted performers Mr. White met, interviewed and knew throughout his career, with a number of autographed and original pieces.
